I am recording an EP, and I need your help.

The songs are simple.
You will find yourself in the driver’s seat with the windows down on your way West. You have no idea what’s ahead, but you trust everything will be ok. You’ll catch up with an old friend along the way. Someone will catch your eye and turn your world upside down. You’ll hand your heart over to them. They’ll take it only to return it to you in a handful of ashes.
The story is sad but true.
Each track is a page in a chapter of my life that began with a faithful leap into the unknown and ended with brutal heartbreak. The EP attempts to capture the moments and emotions of someone taking it all in stride.
Why record the EP now?
It's a long story for another time, but, most significantly, I was afraid. I was afraid to share these songs with the world - with you.
I was afraid of what you might think.
But I don’t live by that fear anymore. By the grace of God I walk through the flames of that anxiety each day. Now I play the tunes and think, “That’s a good song.”
This campaign testifies to that.
Why am I asking for your hard-earned dollars?
I need your help to bring these songs to life. As an independent artist I lack the financial resources of a record label. I’m asking you to partner with me as executive producers. We can act as our own record label. By supporting this campaign you will help to cover the costs of recording this EP, allowing me to share my music with the world.
Here is the breakdown:
2 days in the studio with a band (lead guitar, keys, drums, bass, pedal steel): $2800
2.5 days with the producer recording overdubs and vocals: $2250
Audio Mixing: $1250
Audio Mastering: $1000
Total = $7,300
I am determined to record this EP. If we do not raise the needed funds, I am ready to pour out my savings to complete the project.
I am also contributing an estimated $1,000 of my own money to cover what follows the production of the record; e.g. publishing, copyrighting, licensing, distribution.
If we exceed the goal, I’ll be able to invest the extra funds into publishing and distribution and potentially record even more music.
Every dime raised will go toward making music for you to enjoy.
What do you get out of it?
Music, of course, but also the pride that comes with helping to produce a record.
And after all is said and done we will celebrate our success with a concert before launching this music out into the world.
What’s next?
The session is scheduled for June 18-21, which means we have a couple weeks to raise the funds needed to make this EP come alive.
